The Soup Kitchen of Muncie has operated since 1992 in the old St. Lawrence School at Charles and Hackley Streets. Between 125 and 150 people are served a free lunch every Monday through Friday from 9:30 to 11:30am. Special Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners with gifts are scheduled for the holidays. The Soup Kitchen is a place where many gather to visit and find refuge from the elements. They seek organizations, businesses, and private donors to contribute money and food.
