Students in grades 2-5 will present the Passion Play TONIGHT @ 6:15 PMat church. This portrays Christ’s passion, death, and resurrection. Students should arrive by 6:05 pm in “Sunday best” clothes. All families are encouraged to attend-the kids have been working hard to prepare!
Students are excited about our trip to the Indianapolis Children’s Museum Students should wear tennis shoes and socks for playing. Students should wear a Saint Lawrence shirt (PE shirts, STREAM Team shirt, Choir, sports, etc.). Students who do not have a Saint Lawrence shirt can pick one up in the office tomorrow morning. Jeans and shorts are okay.
We’ll return from Indy at 4:30 tomorrow, children can be picked up then. We’ll have After-School Care until 5:30 as always. There will be no tutoring.
Remember that we have no school this Friday. You are encouraged to attend the Good Friday service at church beginning at 3:00 pm.
On Saturday, here are two free Easter Egg Hunts for children. One begins at 10:00 am @ Knights of Columbus Hall (3600 W. Purdue Avenue). Another begins at 1:00 pm @ Washington Park (corner of Adams and Pershing). For both hunts, you’ll need to bring your own bag/basket and arrive early. If you show up one minute late, the egg hunts are already over!
Saturday is the beautiful Easter Vigil Mass at church beginning at 8:30 pm. If you attend, you’ll see Mrs. Cunnington join the church. Also entering the church will be her daughter, the father of one of our students, and my wife, Meghan. There will be 11 adults receiving the Eucharist for the first time. There will also be four children baptized, including my daughter Winona.
Since we haven’t missed any school days thus far, we are off on Monday. There will be no Track practice on Monday.
Last week, Mrs. McKinley sent home PTO Officer Nomination Forms. Please consider nominating a parent or grandparent to a PTO position for next year. Yes, you are welcome to nominate yourself! Nomination forms must be turned in to the office by Tuesday, April 18. Elections will take place at our next PTO meeting, which will be May 3, 6:00 pm at school.
There will be no mass next Wednesday, April 19 (Father Hellmann will be on vacation). Please bring children directly to school by 7:50 am.
Grade 4 will go to the Indy 500 Educational Study Trip on Friday, April 21.
On, Monday, April 24, we will have our annual Health Meetings from 2:10-2:55. Boys in grades 4-5 and girls in grades 3-4-5 will participate. A permission slip was sent home, please sign and return by tomorrow.
Our next Casual Day is April 28. Students are asked to bring in one or more packs of dried fruit or raisins to support the Saint Lawrence Food Pantry.
On the original school calendar published last summer, a Knights of Columbus dinner was scheduled for April 29. This event has been cancelled.
Grades 3-4-5 will travel to the Indianapolis Symphony on Tuesday, May 9. This trip will be free for students. This will be an all-day trip, and we will need parent drivers. If you can drive, contact Mr. Hart at: [email protected]. More details to follow.
YMCA KIDZ Marathon will be Saturday, May 20, 9:00-11:00 am at Ball State Recreation and Wellness Center. Parents should plan to attend with their children, please arrive by 8:40 am.
