Happy All Saints Day! The children did a wonderful job at Mass this morning.
Donuts for Dads is tomorrow. Join us in the cafeteria and have free breakfast with your child(ren). This event is open to any man who serves as a positive role model to our students. Men are encouraged to stay for morning gathering (8:05-8:15) to see how we begin each day with scripture and prayer. Doors open at 7:15AM.
We will conduct a free hearing screening for all students in grades K, 1 and 4 on Friday afternoon. If you have a child in grades 2, 3 or 5 who you feel may benefit from a hearing screening, please let the office know ASAP. If a hearing impairment is detected during the screening, you will be notified in writing.
Movie Night is this Friday, 5:00PM-7:00PM. Blue registration sheets should be turned in by Friday by 9:00AM.
Shop with Scrip Order Forms were sent home last Friday. Fill out the orange form and turn it in, with payment, to the office by Monday, November 6 at 10:00AM.
Picture Retake Day for individuals is Wednesday, November 8. If you wish to order retake pictures and need an order form, contact the office. Class pictures will also be taken on this day. Order forms for class pictures were sent home today.
Our Veterans Day Dinner is Friday, November 10! If you have served or are serving in the U.S. military, or you have a relative or close friend who has served, please send in a photograph for our slideshow. We need the person’s name, branch, years of service, and their relation to one of our students. Email your digital photo to Miss Smith ([email protected]) or bring a hard copy to Miss Smith.
Our next Skating Party is Tuesday, November 14, at Gibson’s Roller Skating Arena, 2610 South Mock Avenue. The party starts at 6:00 pm and ends at 8:00 pm.
Thank you to those of you who attended last week’s Parent/Teacher Conferences. We had a participation rate of around 90%.

Our Socktober sock drive was a huge success! Around 380 pairs of socks were donated to the Muncie Mission. Congratulations to Robert, Bryson K., Brooklynn, Owen, Emily and Attara for winning the drawing for Sock Monkey Hats!
Our school has been contacted by Boy Scouts of America. They are hoping to re-open the Saint Lawrence Catholic School Troop. If your son(s) are interested, let Mr. Frey know by this Friday, November 3. The troop would be open to all male SLCS students, grades K-5. We also need one or more troop leaders, so if you’re able, please let Mr. Frey know right away.
Around 100 boxes of very nice Christmas Cards are available for sale in the school office from now until Friday. If you send Christmas cards each year, this is a great opportunity to buy cards at a reasonable price, with 100% of the money going to our field trip fund! If you usually do not send Christmas cards to friends and family, this would be the perfect year to start a new tradition. People love getting cards in the mail! All cards are $3.oo per box.
The final day to wear shorts (in 2017) was Tuesday, October 31. Shorts may be worn again starting March 1, 2018.
