Today’s newsletter will be the final one distributed in print this year. It is also being sent via email and accessible through our school website. If you did not get the email from me around 11:20AM today, let the office know immediately.
We had a very successful Casual Dress Day last Friday. We were able to make an impressive donation of breakfast cereal to the church food pantry. Our next Casual Day will be September 15, where each child is asked to bring in one or more jars of peanut butter. Thank you for modeling the Christian virtue of Charitable Giving to your children!
Sports Physicals took place on Monday. Every student who is planning to play sports has now had their physical. Thank you to Mrs. Evans for conducting the Sports Physicals.
All SLCS students had vision screening on Monday. If any student struggled with the screening, parents/guardians have already been notified in writing.

Remember that all purple Lunch Order Forms should be turned in by Thursday of each week so orders can be placed for the following week. Families on Free Lunch should still turn in a marked form, we will not automatically order lunches for you. Families on Paid or Reduced Lunch should be sure to turn in money with their order or make payments on myschoolbucks.
August 30 (one week from today) is our first Picture Day of the year. All students will have their picture taken, at no charge, for the hallway display board and yearbook. Families who wish to order picture packets may do so by filling out the order form or ordering online. An order form, as well as directions for online ordering, was sent home this week. No family is obligated to purchase pictures.
For the August 30 Picture Day, students have two options regarding clothing:
White Shirt Wednesday (navy pants for boys, jumpers/skirts for girls).
Since you may be ordering a picture packet, students may also wear formal clothes that are not school uniforms (dress for girls, dress shirt/tie/sport jacket for boys). Remember that heels are never allowed at SLCS.
