The next PTO Meeting will be TONIGHT, 6:00 pm at school.
Now that we are in March, students may wear shorts to school for the remainder of the school year.
Our school welcomed two new students yesterday. Christopher is a kindergartner in Mrs. McKinley’s class and Serinity is in Mrs. Brinson’s class. We’ve now added six new students since Christmas.
There was a minor setback with our ISTEP testing, so we did not begin on Tuesday as was originally planned. Grades 3-4-5 will take their tests on Thursday and Friday of this week, and grades 4-5 will finish up their tests on Tuesday, March 7. Please make sure your children get plenty of sleep the night before the test and a nice breakfast. Also, be sure to pack a full healthy lunch for them on test day.
Our next Movie Night is this Friday, 5-7 pm. We are watching Storks, and the proceeds will benefit the Media Center. Mrs. Cope sent home blue flyers recently.
Each family received 24 tickets for our upcoming Dan’s Fish Fry. Please try to sell all of your tickets. This is a crucial fundraiser for us, and advanced ticket sales help a lot! Tickets and money should be turned in by this Friday, March 3. If you lose your tickets or money, or do not turn in unsold tickets or money, the school will bill you for the value of the missing tickets. Thank you to those who have already sold tickets and turned in money!
If you can volunteer to help out before, during or after the Fish Fry, please contact Bryan Fortreide at [email protected] or 765-729-2396. We need people to bread the fish, wait tables, and clean up after the dinner.
Shop with Scrip Order Forms were sent home last week by Mrs. Waechter. You can now order Marsh gift cards in $100 denominations. Order forms must be turned in BEFORE SCHOOL BEGINS on Monday, March 6. Forms turned in after school will be too late to make the order deadline.
Due to Father Hellmann’s continuing recovery from pneumonia, we will not have Big Church on March 8. Please bring children directly to school.
Yearbook order forms are due Thursday, March 16. Send $12 per book.
Our Spring Break is March 20-24.
SLCS will soon start an exciting new club called STREAM Team! This after-school club will meet on Wednesdays and focus on building technology and leadership skills, as well as exposing students to advanced technologies that are changing the world. Dues will be $15, which will cover the cost of a t-shirt and supplies. Look for more details soon from Mr. Hart.
We are planning a field trip to the Indianapolis Children’s Museum on Thursday, April 13. Look for more details in the coming weeks.
