The program will feature clergy and church members from a wide range of Christian churches in Muncie. There will be scripture reading and a sermon, along with music provided by the SLCS choir. The event will begin at 12:00 noon and last one hour, followed by lunch at Harvest Soup Kitchen (adjacent to church).
The final Uniform Committee meeting will be Wednesday, January 25. We will put the finishing touches on the policy changes for 2017-2018. The meeting will begin at 6:30 (not 6:00) in the school cafeteria.
We are planning an Open House at SLCS for prospective students and their families. This will happen on Sunday, February 12, from 1:00-3:00 pm. If you are willing to help with the event, please contact Mrs. Waechter.
SLCS will host a pair of Kindergarten Round Ups this spring. If you have family, friends or co-workers with Kindergarten-ready children for 2017-2018, please share these dates:
Tuesday, March 7 8:45-10:15 am
Thursday, March 9 6:00-8:00 pm
Parents only need to attend one of the Round Ups. Parents may bring their children with them.
Of course, anyone who wants to apply for admission can call the school or stop by the main office any time, any day.
Last week, SLCS welcomed two new students! Bryson is in Mrs. Brinson’s class and Brooklynn is in Mrs. Devine’s class. They transferred to SLCS from Delaware Christian Academy. We are thrilled to have them at our school!
The Muncie Knights of Columbus collects pop tabs and donates them to Riley Hospital for Children. If you have pop tabs, just bag them up and bring them to school, we’ll make sure that they are passed along.
In the event of a school delay or closing, I will notify families via Harmony text message. I will also contact local radio (WLBC). I will make every effort to inform families before 6:30 am.
