• Happy Saint Nicholas Day! We learned about this important fourth-century church leader today, and every child received some candy to celebrate. Additionally, students in grades K-1-2 received a coloring mat that can be colored with markers, and students in grades 3-4-5 received a religious medal.

• Congratulations to our November Virtues in Practice recipients! Here’s how Mylaya Gaines and Cora Taylor modeled Stewardship (returning to God the first fruits of your time, talent, and treasure):

• Mass this week will be Friday due to the Holy Day (Feast of the Immaculate Conception). Drop off children at Saint Lawrence Church between 7:30-7:50 am. We will take the 9:18AM MITS bus to school, not the 8:48AM bus. All students should wear navy pants and they do NOT need to wear white shirts.

• The Boys Basketball team will have a season-end Taco Party at school this Friday from 3:15-4:00PM. Coach Davis will provide the tacos.

• The next Parent-Teacher Organization (P.T.O.) meeting will be Tuesday, December 12. Meetings are held at school from 6:30PM until 7:30PM.
• The Grade 4-5 Field Trip to Indianapolis Children’s Museum is next Thursday, December 14. Permission slips were sent home today. Each child must turn in the signed slip and the $6.50 fee (covers admission and lunch) by Wednesday, December 13. Questions can be directed to Mr. Robbins.

• Next Friday, December 15, is a Casual Dress Day. We ask that each student bring at least one can of soup to school to donate to the Saint Lawrence Church Emergency Food Pantry.

• Our Advent Program will be held at our school gymnasium on Monday, December 18. Come and enjoy A Christmas Carol: Scrooge in Bethlehem featuring all of our students. All students should arrive by no later than 6:00PM. Please invite family, neighbors, and friends, we want a big crowd! There is no admission charge.

• Thank you for ordering Shop with Scrip cards! For the December order, our school sold $8,500 worth of cards. This gives us a profit of $374.79 for the month!

• We are doing a Christmas Canned Food Drive to benefit the Saint Lawrence Church Food Pantry. There will be three teams (Mrs. Brinson, Mr. Robbins, and Mrs. McKinley/Miss Smith). The team with the most items will win a Christmas Party on December 20. Students can start donating items now, the last day to donate is December 20. Questions can be directed to Mrs. Cope.

• Please note that our Christmas Break is shorter than most other local schools. We resume classes on Tuesday, January 2, 2018. Please keep this in mind when planning family holiday trips. Muncie Community Schools resume classes on January 8.

• All locations of Vogue Cleaners give a 20% discount on dry cleaning plaid jumpers and skirts. They will restore the pleats as well. Mention “Saint Lawrence Catholic School” for the discount when dropping off your garments.

• Our Grade 3 tutoring will now end at 4:35PM (not 5;05PM), effective immediately.
