If your child is going to be absent, please call the office as early as possible in the morning. Also, if you need to pick up your child early, call the office in advance. This helps the teacher have homework ready and is far less disruptive to the class.
This Friday is our annual Veterans Day Dinner at the Knights of Columbus Hall (3600 West Purdue Avenue, just north of Ball State’s baseball diamond). Please make plans to attend, as this is a big fundraiser for our school and all students are invited to sing at 7:30PM. A red flyer was distributed this week with more details.
Next Friday, November 17, is a Casual Dress Day. We ask that each student bring at least one 12-pack of Ramen Noodles to school to donate to the Saint Lawrence Church Emergency Food Pantry.
Next Friday, November 17, is an early-release day. Children will be dismissed at 1:00 and can be picked up at that time. Any child not picked up by 1:15 will go to After-School Care, but they will not be charged a fee as long as they are picked up by 3:15. Any child not picked up by 3:15 will be charged. Once in After-School Care, students may stay until 5:30 (the regular end time for After-School Care).
Our school families have been invited to participate in an exciting FREE event on Monday, November 13, at 7:00PM. Jeff Corwin, environmentalist and animal specialist, will present Tales from the Field at Ball State’s Emens Auditorium. His talk will feature live animals and is appropriate for all ages. Our next Skating Party is next Tuesday, November 14, at Gibson’s Roller Skating Arena, 2610 South Mock Avenue. The party starts at 6:00 pm and ends at 8:00 pm.
Next Friday, November 17, is our annual Shadow Day at Pope John Paul II Middle School. Our grade 5 students will be dropped off at the Saint Mary campus at 8:00AM and be picked up by parents at 3:15PM. Fifth graders may wear their PE shirts, grey jackets, and jeans. Any color shoes and socks are okay. Students who did not order a lunch will need to pack a lunch for the day.
Remember that during Thanksgiving week, we will be in school on Monday and Tuesday only. We will be off on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Mass will be on Tuesday, November 21.
